About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) Teacher to join our vibrant school community in Teddington. You will deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction to pupils with diverse needs, collaborating closely with senior staff, teaching assistants, and external specialists to ensure inclusive learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, deliver and assess tailored lessons for SEND pupils across key stages.
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with parents and multidisciplinary teams.
• Monitor progress, maintain accurate records and adjust strategies to meet statutory targets.
• Provide targeted support and interventions, including small-group and one-to-one sessions.
• Contribute to whole-school SEND policy, safeguarding, and inclusive practice initiatives.
• Lead or co-lead professional development sessions for staff on differentiation and accessibility.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – preferably with a Special Educational Needs endorsement.
• Minimum 2?years experience teaching in a mainstream or specialist SEND setting.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, SENDIST, and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with families and external agencies.
Desirable
• Post-graduate qualification in SEND or related field.
• Experience with autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, or moderate/severe learning difficulties.
