SEND Teaching Assistant (ASD & SEMH) – Mossley (OL5) – Immediate Opportunity
Are you ready to make a real impact in the classroom? A welcoming primary school in Mossley (OL5) is looking for a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis, starting immediately.
This rewarding role involves working closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. If you’re calm under pressure, empathetic, and passionate about inclusive education – this could be the perfect fit for you.
Key Duties:
- Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD and SEMH
- Assist in delivering individualised education and behaviour plans
- Promote emotional well-being and support self-regulation strategies
- Help create a positive, structured learning environment
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality support
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASD and SEMH (preferred)
- Confident using de-escalation techniques and promoting positive behaviour
- Approachable, patient, and resilient with a genuine passion for helping children thrive
- Team player with strong communication and organisational skills
