Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant - Full Time - Primary
About the role: Axcis Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to support primary school children in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young learners and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide tailored support to children with a diverse range of needs. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the delivery of a differentiated curriculum tailored to individual pupil needs under the direction of the classroom teacher. - Provide one-to-one and small group support, adapting to the specific educational requirements and social development of each child. - Prepare learning materials and resources as instructed by the lead teacher. - Monitor and record pupils' progress, reporting any concerns to the teacher in charge. - Foster a safe, supportive, and encouraging classroom environment. - Act as a role model, demonstrating high levels of respect, support, and professionalism. Requirements: - Previous experience working with primary-aged children within a SEND setting is preferred. - Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable. - Understanding of various SEND conditions and the strategies used to support children with these needs. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff, students, and parents. - Able to work independently and as part as a team to support pupils' learning and development. - Patience, flexibility, and a positive, proactive approach to challenging situations. - A valid UK driving license is essential, as the role requires a driver to take the children out into the community.
