Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Secondary Autism Experience
Axcis Education is delighted to partner with a large, modern secondary school in Barnet, which is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. Starting in November, this role is focused on supporting students with Autism in a dynamic and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting students’ academic growth, social development, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with ASD, adapting strategies to suit individual needs.
Help students overcome classroom challenges, ensuring they are engaged and able to access the curriculum.
Employ specialised interventions to foster social, emotional, and academic skills.
Track and document student progress, sharing updates regularly with the SENCO and relevant teaching staff.
Requirements:
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
Proven experience working with secondary school students with ASD.
Strong interpersonal skills to build effective, supportive relationships with students, becoming a dependable resource in the classroom.
