Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a primary school in Camden. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a child with complex needs. Role Overview As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a student to provide tailored support throughout the school day. The role involves assisting with their educational, emotional, and social development, as well as providing personal care where necessary. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support to a student with complex needs in the classroom and during other school activities. Assist with the implementation of personalised learning plans and interventions. Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. Support the student with personal care needs, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. Liaise with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure the student’s needs are met. Encourage the student’s independence and participation in school life. Requirements Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly with complex needs. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children. Willingness and ability to provide personal care. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the student’s changing needs. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Possession of a valid UK driving licence and access to a personal car (as travel may be required for specific situations related to the role).
