Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Position Title: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant Employment Type: Full Time Immediate Opening: A highly regarded, large SEND school in Anywhere is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant. This position requires an immediate start and is a tremendous opportunity for individuals with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs. Key Responsibilities: - Work in collaboration with the class teacher to provide educational support to students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and speech and language challenges. - Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student. - Provide one-to-one or small group assistance to students, focusing on fostering independence, social integration, and academic progress. - Employ various communication strategies and tools to support students with speech and language difficulties. - Support students in staying focused and on-task to maximize their learning potential. - Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to the teacher and multidisciplinary teams. - Aid in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. - Contribute to the overall wellbeing and personal development of the students. - Attend and participate in school meetings and training sessions. - Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. Qualifications and Experience: - Proven experience in SEND support or previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is required. - A sound understanding of the different types of learning challenges and needs associated with ASC, MLD, and speech and language impairments. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Patience, resilience, and a compassionate nature. - A proactive and resourceful approach to dealing with challenges. - Commitment to continuous professional development.
