Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Communication – Barking & Dagenham
From £89/day | Nursery/EYFS | Barking & Dagenham | Immediate Start | Full-Time | Long-Term
Axcis are partnering with a nurturing primary school in Barking & Dagenham who are seeking an Early Years SEND TA to support children with autism, social communication needs and speech delay. The school has a lovely, community feel and an experienced EYFS team who work closely with therapists and families to provide strong early intervention. The school is easily accessed via the District and Hammersmith & City lines, with good on-site parking available.
In this role, you will be:
• Supporting EYFS pupils with autism and communication needs through play-based, sensory and structured activities.
• Using visuals, Makaton/PECS, modelling and simplified language to aid communication.
• Helping with routines, transitions, regulation and early social development.
• Working with the SENCO, class teacher and therapists to implement personalised strategies.
• Encouraging confidence, curiosity and engagement across early learning experiences.
