Daily Rate: £90–£95 per day
Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant passionate about making a real difference in a child’s life? A well-regarded two-form entry primary school in Bournemouth is looking for a dedicated 1:1 TA to support a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, starting January 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, inclusive primary school where every pupil is valued. You’ll join a collaborative TA team, working alongside an experienced class teacher in a Year 3 class of 28 pupils, delivering consistent, personalised support that enables a child to thrive academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ASC and SEMH, helping them engage fully in classroom learning
Support emotional regulation, social skills, and confidence-building
Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to implement individualised strategies and interventions
Contribute to a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Assist with classroom routines, small-group work, and learning activities as needed
Monitor pupil progress, track achievements, and provide feedback to the team
Ideal Candidate
Experienced Teaching Assistant in a primary or secondary setting
Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND, ASC, and SEMH
Patient, consistent, and nurturing approach with excellent relationship-building skills
Strong knowledge of SEND strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and personalised learning
Positive, approachable, and flexible, with a passion for helping children succeed
Committed to providing stable, consistent support to ensure continuity for the pupil
