Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Experienced Teaching Assistant – EHCP Support (Plymouth)
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Plymouth, providing targeted support to pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This is a rewarding opportunity for a confident professional who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the classroom. The role is starting ASAP.
This position is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant who has previously supported pupils with additional needs and understands the importance of personalised, child-centred learning. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with EHCPs across the school day. This may include supporting learning activities, promoting positive behaviour, assisting with emotional regulation and encouraging independence. You will play a key role in creating a calm, structured and supportive learning environment, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with proven classroom experience, ideally within a UK school setting. Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs, special educational needs or additional learning needs is highly valued but not essential. You should be confident working collaboratively, proactive in your approach and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff alike. While formal qualifications are beneficial, relevant experience is essential, and experience supporting EHCPs is desirable.
What’s on Offer:
Competitive daily pay of £90–£95 per day, depending on experience
A supportive school environment with a strong focus on inclusion
The opportunity to make a genuine impact on pupils’ learning and wellbeing
Ongoing support from a dedicated team who value your skills and experience
If you are an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a fulfilling role in Plymouth, and you are available to start immediately, we would love to hear from you. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed professional seeking stability, purpose and the chance to positively influence young lives.
