Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming special needs school in Tilehurst. This is a rewarding full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs. Pay: £92.63 per day Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Location: Tilehurst About the Role: You will be supporting pupils aged 4 to 17 with needs ranging from moderate to severe learning disabilities. The role involves working closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support, helping pupils access learning and develop key life skills in a safe, structured and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with a range of SEND needs in both classroom and individual settings Assist with learning activities and behaviour management strategies Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils Encourage engagement, participation, and independence Support students with personal care where required Work flexibly across different age groups and needs within the school Requirements: We are looking for candidates who have transferable experience in one or more of the following: SEND school settings Care or support work Social work Services supporting vulnerable individuals Essential Qualities: Ability to build strong, meaningful relationships with pupils Confidence in engaging with and relating to children and young people with additional needs Natural ability to command respect and act as a positive role model Flexibility and adaptability across a wide range of ages and needs A proactive, patient and resilient approach Comfort and willingness to support with personal care Why Apply?
