Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm | £92.63 per day (£14.25 per hour equivalent) Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant or support worker looking for a rewarding full-time role? We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming SEND school in Newbury that supports children and young people of all ages, primarily with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with pupils to support their learning, independence, and emotional wellbeing, helping them to thrive both in and out of the classroom. The school offers a varied curriculum with plenty of outdoor learning opportunities, educational visits, and excursions, so you'll need to be comfortable spending much of the day on your feet and supporting pupils in a range of environments. The role will involve supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies, and assisting with personal care where required. To be successful, you will have previous experience supporting children or adults with SEND, particularly those with ASD or complex needs. You should be confident managing challenging behaviour with patience, empathy, and consistency, and be committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are preferred due to the location. In return, you'll join a dedicated and supportive school team where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people every day.
