SEND Learning Support Assistant – ASAP Start Location: Exeter, Devon Hours: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm (30-minute lunch break) Pay: £103 per day Start Date: ASAP Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and specialist school in Exeter, with an ASAP start available. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is patient, compassionate and committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning. The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Anxiety, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and communication difficulties. About the Role As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils both 1:1 and within small groups, helping them to feel confident, supported and engaged throughout the school day. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils' learning, emotional wellbeing, communication and personal development. Your responsibilities will include: • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND. • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils. • Supporting emotional regulation, communication, confidence and social development. • Encouraging independence and positive engagement with learning. • Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning targets. • Using positive and nurturing behaviour strategies. • Working alongside teachers, therapists and wider support staff. • Monitoring pupil progress and sharing relevant feedback with the school team. • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
