We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in Tilehurst from 5th October 2026. The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils aged 4 to 17 years who have a range of moderate to severe learning disabilities. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will help create a positive learning environment where every pupil feels valued, encouraged and able to succeed. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils in the classroom and during individual learning activities Encouraging engagement, confidence and independence Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning programmes Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils Helping pupils develop essential social, communication and life skills Providing personal care when required Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff to meet individual needs About You We are looking for someone who is patient, resilient and committed to making a difference.
