Axcis Education have an exciting new opportunity in the Exeter area working with primary or Secondary aged pupils in a special school owned by a well known trust. The school is looking for a full time Social and Emotional classroom Assistant to support a small class of 8 pupils alongside the class teacher. The role is Monday to Friday working 8:30 - 3:30 paying £85 - £90 per day. The provision provides EHCP’s for each pupil this is designed to support them and their families to stabilise and be better equipped, to regulate behaviour and engage in academic learning. The overall aim is for the children to return back in to mainstream schooling or a long term educational setting. The children are taught in a personalised thematic curriculum designed to re-engage them into education. The trusts programme is heavily centered on Emotional Logic and enabling a pupil to be able to control their behaviour. The ideal candidate must have experience working with children or young people with social, emotional and mental health needs and be comfortable taking on a role to assist positive behaviour and behaviour management. You must be a nurturing person with the ability to form good relationships with children and respect each individual on a case by case basis.
