Job Title: Specilaist Teaching Assistatnt
Axcis are working with a specialist school in Tiverton seeking a dedicated and compassionate specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–3:00pm. The school is an 11–16 special school and Free School Academy supporting students with Autistic Spectrum Condition and associated Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Since opening in 2019, the school has grown significantly and now supports 115 students across two purpose-refurbished buildings, with all pupils having an EHCP and small class sizes of no more than 10 students.
The school is a welcoming, inclusive and nurturing environment where strong relationships and effective engagement are at the heart of everything they do. Many students have experienced disrupted education and thrive in a setting built on mutual respect, consistency and positive reinforcement. Working alongside teachers, Teaching Assistants support personalised learning, emotional regulation and positive behaviour, helping students re-engage with education and develop confidence.
We are looking for a specialist teaching assistant who is patient, resilient and motivated to make a difference. While students can sometimes present challenges, they are bright, humorous and rewarding to work with. If you are passionate about creating positive educational experiences, value meaningful relationships, and want to help young people leave school as confident, prepared young adults ready for employment or further education, this school could be the school for you.
Paying a daily rate of £90, no weekend work and being paid weekly every Friday. You will also receive training at the school and have the potential for a permanent job role if you get on well.
