SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Ealing)
Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover - 1 Year)
Location: Ealing, Southall, Greater London
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Start Date: April 2025
Overview:
Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant mainstream primary school in Ealing on a one-year maternity cover. This role offers the opportunity to support children aged 4-11 with speech and language difficulties, Autism, and other SEN needs. You will work across the school, from nursery through to Year 6, providing both 1:1 and small group support.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide tailored support to children with SEN, focusing on speech and language difficulties and Autism.
-Work both 1:1 and in small group settings to enhance student engagement and learning.
-Collaborate with class teachers to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
-Use PECS and Makaton to support communication for students with language barriers.
Requirements:
-Previous experience working with SEN children in mainstream schools or similar environments.
-Knowledge of PECS and Makaton is essential.
-Willingness to assist with personal care when required.
-Calm, patient, and able to motivate and inspire students.
-Strong teamwork and communication skills.
