Do you have a genuine passion for helping children with additional needs thrive? We are currently seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and forward-thinking school located near Blandford.
This is a highly rewarding position, offering the chance to provide tailored support to a pupil with SEN, enabling them to build confidence, develop independence and enjoy their learning journey within a caring and inclusive school environment.
Your role
In partnership with the class teacher and SENCo, you will deliver personalised 1:1 support that reflects the pupil’s specific needs. You will also play an active role within the classroom, contributing to a positive, structured and engaging learning atmosphere for all pupils.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN
• Assisting with learning across core subjects including English and maths
• Promoting positive behaviour, self-confidence and independence
• Preparing learning materials and assisting with classroom organisation
• Observing, tracking and recording pupil progress
• Supporting the implementation and review of IEPs
• Attending staff meetings, training sessions and CPD opportunities

You will be:
• Experienced in working with children with SEN or in a Teaching Assistant role
• Compassionate, patient and flexible in your approach
• Confident in communicating with pupils, colleagues and parents
• Comfortable working independently and within a team
• Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, though not essential.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm, with a pay range between £13.85 and £14.61 per hour
