Job Title: Teaching Assistant – SEND College (Autism Specialist) Location: Newton-Le-Willows (WA12) Start Date: Immediate Starts Available Contract Type: Full-Time Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm Are you passionate about supporting young people with autism as they prepare for adulthood? Do you enjoy working in a hands-on, practical learning environment where every day is different? We are currently recruiting for a specialist SEND college in Newton-Le-Willows, supporting students aged 16 to 25 with autism and a range of additional needs, including communication difficulties and complex learning needs. This setting is designed to help students transition from education into adulthood, with a strong focus on independence, employability, and life skills. Alongside classroom-based education, students engage in vocational and real-world experiences to help prepare them for life beyond education. Learners take part in activities such as: • Running a student-led café • Working within a garden centre and outdoor environments • Developing enterprise and employability skills The aim is to build confidence, independence, and transferable skills that will support students in their future pathways. As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting students both in the classroom and in these practical settings, helping them gain the skills they need for adult life.
