Job Title: Teaching Assistant – SEMH & Autism Support
A specialist provision in Plymouth is looking for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join its team from September 2026.
The setting supports pupils from Year 3 to Year 11 with Educational, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) relating to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and/or Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
The Role
The successful candidate will support pupils both in class and on a 1:1 basis, helping to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning.
Duties may include:
• Supporting pupils in lessons and small groups
• Encouraging emotional regulation and independence
• Assisting with outdoor and vocational activities
• Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
About the Provision
The school offers a creative approach to learning, including:
• Forest School for primary pupils
• Craft, Design Technology and Farm sites for secondary pupils
• Access to specialist external training providers
The Ideal Candidate Will:
• Have experience with SEMH and/or autism (preferred)
• Be patient, adaptable and supportive
• Work well as part of a team
• Be passionate about supporting young people with additional needs

Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £92–£96 per day
