Location: Theale, Berkshire Position: Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant (SEMH) Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday Salary: Starting at £93.48 per day Start Date: September 2nd, 2024 About the Role: Axcis Education is looking for a committed and zealous SEMH Teaching Assistant with experience for a full-time position at a renowned specialist school in Theale. This is the ideal role for someone enthusiastic about working with students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, facilitating their academic and personal growth in a safe and nurturing environment. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEMH needs, assist in developing and implementing EHC plans, support students' emotional and personal development, and manage challenging behaviour resiliently. Proficiency collaborating with teachers and parents is essential, as is participating in school activities and training sessions. Requirements: Prior experience with SEMH needs is essential. An A-level equivalent qualification in a relevant subject such as Psychology, Education or Child Development is desirable. The role also requires the ability to provide personal care, strong communication skills, resilience and a compassionate approach to student welfare.
