Our client is a well-regarded mainstream school located in the heart of South Manchester, known for its inclusive ethos and academic excellence. The school features a dedicated SEMH nurture provision, which offers tailored support for students with additional emotional or behavioural needs, helping them to thrive within a nurturing environment.
We are currently recruiting on behalf of the school for a skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting students with SEMH needs. This is a long-term opportunity to join a committed team and make a meaningful impact in a well-resourced and supportive setting.
Responsibilities:
-> Support pupils with SEMH needs both within the nurture provision and in mainstream classrooms.
-> Deliver targeted small group sessions and one-to-one interventions to promote student engagement and progress.
-> Assist with the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
-> Monitor and report on student development, providing regular updates to teaching staff and parents/carers.
-> Foster a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
To be considered for this role, you should should have prior experience supporting children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and/or SEND in an educational setting. You should have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs, along with excellent communication and teamwork skills. A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach is essential for this role.
