Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have experience working with children with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to make a real difference in the life of a student.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student with ASC. This full-time role is based in a lovely primary school and offers a competitive daily rate of £90 on a PAYE basis. The ideal candidate will be prepared to start as soon as possible, integrating into the school's supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a student with ASC, adapting to their individual needs.
- Facilitate the student's educational and social development and foster a positive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers and the SEND coordinator to plan and implement effective strategies for support.
- Monitor the student's progress, reporting any issues to the relevant staff members.
- Assist with the creation and use of specialized resources to support the student's learning.
- Encourage independence and self-confidence in the student.
- Assist with personal care needs if required.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as necessary to ensure the best possible support for the student.
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with ASC or other SEND challenges.
- A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies.
- A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- An understanding of safeguarding principles and commitment to the welfare of children.
- Relevant qualifications in education or SEND support are desirable.
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
