Job Title: Teaching assistant
Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: OL1
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Pay: From £13.50 per hour
Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to support a warm, welcoming primary school with a friendly and supportive staff team. If you have experience supporting children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and a passion for helping young learners thrive, we would love to hear from you.
You will be working closely with children who display a range of SEND needs. This may include:
• Autism (ASC)
• ADHD
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties
• Learning delays or behavioural challenges
Your role will involve supporting pupils in class, helping them access learning, managing behaviour positively, and ensuring they feel safe, understood, and included.
As a teaching assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to:
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs)
• Provide targeted interventions
• Use strategies, visuals and routines that help children succeed
• Communicate regularly with staff to track progress and adjust support
You’ll play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, independence and a love for learning.
Requirements:
• Experience working with children who display SEND
• A child and adult DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one through Axcis
• A positive, patient, and proactive approach
• Reliable and committed to supporting children’s learning
