Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (ADHD & Diabetes Support) – Notting Hill Location: Notting Hill, London Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Temporary (with potential for longer-term support) About the Role A private school in Notting Hill is seeking an experienced and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with ADHD and Type 1 Diabetes in a primary school setting. The child requires consistent, attentive support throughout the school day to ensure their wellbeing, safety, and engagement in learning. Key Responsibilities -Monitor and manage the child’s blood glucose levels throughout the day. -Support the child in class to maintain focus, attention, and engagement with learning activities. -Work closely with teachers and the family to implement strategies that promote concentration, confidence, and emotional regulation. -Ensure the child’s safety, wellbeing, and inclusion within the school environment. Requirements -Proven experience supporting children with ADHD in a primary school setting. -Awareness or experience managing Type 1 Diabetes (training can be provided). -Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – essential. -Warm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs. -Willingness to meet and liaise with the family before starting to ensure a good match.
