Job Title: Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Behaviour & SEMH – Secondary – Barking & Dagenham

Axcis are supporting a secondary school in Barking & Dagenham who are seeking a confident SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour. The school has clear routines, strong pastoral systems and a consistent behaviour framework in place.
The site is accessible via public transport and offers parking for staff.
In this role, you will be:
• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in lessons and structured interventions.
• Using de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour approaches.
• Working 1:1 and in small groups to support engagement and learning.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff.
What we’re looking for:
• Experience supporting challenging behaviour or SEMH.
• Calm, resilient and confident communication style.
• Ability to remain consistent and professional in busy environments.
• Full-time availability.
