Job Title: Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism Provision – Mainstream Primary – Tower Hamlets
£95–£105 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Primary | Immediate / Flexible Start
Axcis are working with a well-established mainstream primary school in Tower Hamlets that has a dedicated SEN provision on site. The school is seeking an experienced and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to work within the provision, supporting multiple pupils with autism and communication needs.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident supporting a range of needs within a structured environment. You will be working alongside a skilled SENCO and experienced staff team who are passionate about inclusion and personalised learning.
The school is easily accessible via DLR, Underground and bus routes and has a positive reputation within the borough.
In this role, you will:
• Support pupils with autism within the SEN provision
• Work across small groups and 1:1 interventions
• Use structured routines, visuals and communication tools to support engagement
• Promote independence and social interaction
• Assist with personalised learning activities aligned to EHCP targets
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
What we’re looking for:
• Experience working with autism in a school setting
• Strong understanding of communication strategies (PECS, visuals, Makaton desirable)
• Patient, organised and proactive approach
• Ability to support multiple pupils across the provision
• Full-time availability and long-term commitment
