Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education are recruiting a full time Teaching Assistant to work in a secondary school in Andover. This rewarding Teaching Assistant role involves supporting students with academic progress behaviour management and social and emotional development throughout the school day.
As a Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the class teacher and wider pastoral team to ensure students with additional needs are fully supported in lessons and around the school. You will play a key part in promoting positive engagement building confidence and maintaining a safe structured learning environment.
ROLE
• Supporting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom resources
• Assisting students with their academic understanding across subjects
• Providing support for social and emotional development
• Managing behaviour and de-escalating challenging situations
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students
• Moving between lessons and supporting during break and lunch duties
• Covering other Teaching Assistant staff when required
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE
• Able to build positive professional relationships with young people
• Resilient with a clear understanding of boundaries
• Proactive positive and solution focused
• Willing to support the wider school team
• Experienced in SEND or behaviour support
