Job Title: Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Complex Needs – Primary – Tower Hamlets
£95–£110 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Immediate / Flexible Start
Axcis are working in close partnership with a well-established and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and complex learning needs.
This is not a passive classroom support role. The school is looking for someone proactive, emotionally intelligent and confident in supporting pupils who require structure, consistency and clear communication strategies. The SEN team is experienced, supportive and well-led, with inclusion embedded across the school.
Located within walking distance of DLR and Underground stations, the school is easily accessible from across East London.
About the Role
You will be working within a structured classroom environment supporting pupils with autism on both a 1:1 and small-group basis.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting pupils with communication and sensory regulation
• Using visual timetables and structured teaching approaches
• Assisting with differentiated learning tasks
• Promoting independence and positive social interaction
• Supporting EHCP outcomes and tracking progress
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and therapists

• Understanding of sensory needs and communication strategies
• Strong teamwork and classroom awareness
