About the School
Axcis Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced primary school near West Drayton Station. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, supportive staff team, and commitment to ensuring every pupil can succeed.
The Role
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity within the school’s Special Resourced Provision (SRP), supporting a small group of up to 10 KS2 pupils with additional needs.
The role involves working closely with pupils who require structured, consistent support to help them access learning and regulate their emotions in a positive environment.
Primary needs supported include:
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Behavioural challenges
Some pupils may present with emotional dysregulation, including verbal outbursts or inappropriate language. A calm, patient, and consistent approach is essential, alongside the use of positive behaviour strategies.
Key Responsibilities
-Provide tailored support to KS2 pupils with SEMH and ASD
-Implement effective behaviour management strategies, including de-escalation techniques
-Use positive reinforcement to support engagement and progress
-Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SEND team
-Help maintain a structured, safe, and nurturing learning environment
-Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
-Experience supporting KS2 pupils with ASD, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
-A confident, proactive, and resilient approach
-Strong behaviour management skills
-Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
-Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
-Team Teach training (highly desirable)
