Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Full-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEND Support)
Primary School – North London (Camden)
£93 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)

A specialist education recruitment agency is currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Camden.
This is a full-time role supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, with a strong focus on SEND, particularly ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and non-verbal communication needs.

The Role
You will be working closely with a pupil on a 1:1 basis, supporting both their academic progress and emotional development.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting a child with SEND, including ASC and non-verbal needs
• Using communication strategies such as Makaton or PECS (desirable)
• Assisting with learning activities tailored to the pupil’s needs
• Managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Helping to create a structured, positive and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who have:
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary setting
• Strong experience supporting SEND pupils on a 1:1 basis
• Experience with ASC and non-verbal children
• Knowledge of or experience using Makaton or PECS (highly desirable)
• A patient, calm and resilient approach
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
