Job Title: Teaching Assistant
1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant
Full-Time | Term Time Only | September Start
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school team from September. This is an exciting opportunity to support a pupil on an individual basis and help them access learning in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide tailored academic, emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs
Adapt activities and resources to support engagement and progress
Assist with the development of social skills, independence and confidence
Support the pupil during lessons, playtimes and transitions throughout the day
Implement strategies and interventions advised by the class teacher and external professionals
Monitor and record progress, behaviour and wellbeing
Build positive relationships with parents, staff and outside agencies
Help maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within a school setting
Knowledge or experience of supporting children with SEND, including ASD, ADHD or speech and language needs
A calm, patient and flexible approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build trusting relationships with children
Good literacy and numeracy skills
A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
