Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant – SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH & Behaviour Support)
Locations: West Ealing & Greenford, Ealing
Trial Dates: ASAP – Ongoing Throughout June, July & Early September
Start Date: Immediate Start Available / September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:45pm
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)
About the Role
Axcis Education is working in partnership with two welcoming and well-established SEND schools in West Ealing and Greenford to recruit experienced and engaging Teaching Assistants for full-time, long-term positions. The schools are looking to arrange trials as soon as possible, with successful candidates potentially able to secure an early start before transitioning into a long-term role from September 2026.
The Greenford site caters for Primary, Secondary, and Post-16 learners, while the West Ealing site supports Primary and Secondary-aged pupils. Both provisions support students with moderate SEND needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), and behavioural challenges. The schools are seeking patient, resilient, and proactive individuals who can build positive relationships, support emotional regulation, and help students access learning successfully.

Key Responsibilities
-Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and behavioural needs
-Provide 1:1 and small group support within the classroom
-Assist pupils in accessing learning and remaining engaged throughout lessons
-Support emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
-Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and staff
-Work collaboratively with teachers and senior leaders
-Create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
-Encourage positive communication, independence, and social interaction
-Support pupils both in lessons and during wider school activities where required
Requirements
-Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
-Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
-Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
-Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-Proactive and hands-on attitude
-Ability to work effectively as part of a team
-Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
-Availability to attend a trial ASAP, with the potential to start before September
