Are you an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a lasting impact in a specialist education setting? Axcis Education is working with a welcoming primary SEMH school in Andover that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its team on a full-time, long-term basis.
This Teaching Assistant role involves supporting pupils who require additional help with their emotional wellbeing, behaviour, communication and learning. The school caters for children with social, emotional and mental health needs. Every day as a Teaching Assistant will bring new opportunities to help pupils grow in confidence, develop positive relationships and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Duties of the Teaching Assistant:
• Delivering tailored support to pupils throughout the school day
• Assisting children to remain focused and engaged during lessons
• Helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
• Supporting the development of social skills and positive peer interactions
• Encouraging emotional regulation and positive choices
• Working alongside teaching staff to adapt learning activities where required
• Contributing to a calm and structured learning environment
• Acting as a positive role model for pupils across the school
What We're Looking For:
• A caring and proactive Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with children
• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs, autism, ADHD, or similar additional needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations
• A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
• A team player who can work closely with teachers and support staff
