About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support classroom teachers in a vibrant primary/secondary setting in Dorking. The successful candidate will help create a stimulating, inclusive learning environment, providing one-to-one and small-group assistance, reinforcing lesson objectives, and fostering positive behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, delivery, and assessment tasks.
• Provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs, ensuring individual education plans are followed.
• Supervise pupils during classroom activities, recess, and trips, maintaining safety and order.
• Help manage classroom resources, record attendance, and update learning logs.
• Encourage student engagement through constructive feedback and motivation.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies as required.
Essential Requirements
• Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (grade 4/C or above).
• Experience working with children in an educational setting (volunteering acceptable).
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.
Desirable
• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
