We are currently recruiting for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Huyton, starting in September 2026.

The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to an individual pupil throughout the school day, helping them access learning, develop their independence and feel confident within the classroom and wider school environment.
You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to understand the pupil's individual needs and provide consistent, personalised support.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout lessons and daily school routines
• Helping the pupil access and engage with classroom learning
• Supporting their communication, confidence and independence
• Adapting activities and resources where appropriate to meet individual needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Supporting the pupil during transitions, break times and other parts of the school day
• Monitoring progress and sharing observations with the class teacher and wider team
• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
• Creating a calm, safe and inclusive environment where the pupil can thrive
The successful candidate will become an important part of the pupil's school experience, providing the encouragement and consistency they need to overcome barriers and make progress.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is caring, patient and committed to helping children succeed. Previous experience working in a school or supporting children with additional needs would be highly desirable, but we are also happy to consider candidates with relevant transferable experience.
You should be able to build strong relationships with children while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. You'll need to be adaptable, resilient and confident working as part of a wider school team.
Experience supporting children with SEND, autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, communication difficulties or challenging behaviour would be advantageous.
Most importantly, you'll have a genuine passion for helping children develop their confidence, independence and ability to learn.
