Job Title: Teaching Assistant
£105 per day | Mainstream Primary School
We are looking for a resilient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a non-verbal autistic pupil in Reception at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Chigwell, IG7.
The pupil requires close 1:1 support throughout the school day, including assistance with personal care. He is currently displaying physical behaviours, so the school is looking for someone who is calm, confident and resilient, with the ability to provide consistent and nurturing support.
The role will include:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support within a Reception classroom
Supporting a non-verbal pupil with autism
Assisting with communication, engagement and classroom activities
Providing personal care as required
Supporting the pupil with regulation and managing physical behaviours safely and calmly
Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team
Helping the pupil feel safe, secure and included within the mainstream classroom
The ideal candidate will:
Be patient, resilient and proactive
Be comfortable providing personal care
Be confident supporting a child who may display physical behaviours
Ideally have experience supporting children with ASD, SEND or communication needs
Have a calm and consistent approach to behaviour
Be passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive
Location: Chigwell, IG7
Pay: £105 per day
