Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Location: Twickenham, Greater London (London Borough of Richmond upon Thames) Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00?–?15:30 (35?hrs/week) Salary: Paid to scale (dependent on experience and qualifications) Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant to support classroom staff in delivering high-quality, inclusive education to pupils aged 5-11. The successful candidate will foster a safe, engaging learning environment and assist in the implementation of the school’s curriculum, behaviour policy, and safeguarding procedures. Key Responsibilities • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils, reinforcing lesson content and reinforcing key concepts. • Prepare teaching resources, set up learning stations, and maintain classroom organization. • Monitor pupil progress, record observations, and communicate insights to the class teacher. • Assist with behaviour management, ensuring consistent application of school policies. • Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) under the guidance of the SENCO. • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities and school events. • Uphold safeguarding duties and report any concerns promptly. Essential Qualifications & Experience • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics (minimum grade C/4). • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or relevant experience in a primary school setting. • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach. • Understanding of the National Curriculum and basic SEN strategies. Desirable • First-Aid or Safeguarding training. • Experience with digital learning platforms.
