Job Title: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Salary: £92.63 per day
Job Type: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 4:00pm)

Axcis Education is recruiting for a dedicated and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Redditch.
This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support to two Reception-aged pupils (4-5 years old) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will support one pupil during the morning and another during the afternoon, helping both children access learning, develop social skills, and build confidence within the classroom environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Nursery Practitioner, or anyone with experience supporting children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to two pupils in Reception with SEND.
• Support learning activities within the classroom and during structured interventions.
• Encourage communication, social interaction, and emotional development.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Promote independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
• Support pupils with transitions, routines, and classroom expectations.
• Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support with personal care when required.
• Follow EHCP targets and support strategies where applicable.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and SEND staff to meet individual pupil needs.
Requirements
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, additional needs, or challenging behaviours.
• Experience in education, childcare, support work, care, youth work, or similar settings is desirable.
• Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable supporting personal care needs when required.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Available full-time, Monday to Friday.
