Job Title: Autism Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Taunton Pay: £92 – £109 per day Type: Full-time Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are looking for a caring and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school, supporting pupils with a range of complex learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to pupils' day-to-day lives while developing their experience within a specialist educational setting. The role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to help pupils engage with learning, develop their independence and feel safe and supported at school. You may be supporting pupils with: • Autism and communication needs • Complex learning difficulties • Social, emotional and behavioural needs • Physical or sensory needs The role will involve providing 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with classroom activities and helping pupils develop their confidence, communication and independence. We're looking for someone who: • Is patient, compassionate and genuinely enjoys working with children • Is confident supporting pupils who may present with challenging or unpredictable behaviour • Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils • Is resilient, adaptable and willing to get involved • Has previous experience working with children, young people or individuals with additional needs - although relevant transferable experience will also be considered If you're looking for a rewarding role where no two days are quite the same and you can make a meaningful difference to young people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
