About the Role
Axcis are seeking a dedicated and skilled BSL Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in East London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people who are deaf or hearing impaired, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and thrive in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide in-class support for students with hearing impairments.
Use British Sign Language (minimum Level 3) to aid communication.
Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to adapt materials and resources.
Promote independence and inclusion for students in all aspects of school life.
Build positive relationships with students, parents, and external agencies.
Requirements:
BSL Level 3 qualification (or working towards).
Previous experience supporting young people in an educational setting, ideally at secondary level.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A patient, proactive, and flexible approach.
