Job Title: College Teaching Assistant
Full-Time SEN Learning Support Assistant (PMLD Focus)
Location: Hounslow
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
We are a specialist Post-16 SEND college in Hounslow, dedicated to supporting young adults with a wide range of needs, with a particular focus on those with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Our college provides a nurturing, inclusive environment where every learner is supported to achieve their full potential.
We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality, person-centred support to learners with a range of complex needs, including PMLD
Assist with personal care, including feeding, changing, and toileting
Support students in the classroom and throughout the college day
Promote independence, communication, and social development
Support learners with challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies and interventions
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with SEN students, including those with challenging behaviour
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma (or equivalent qualification)
Team Teach training (preferred)
Experience in providing personal care
A caring, patient, and resilient approach
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
