Job Title: English Teacher

Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a passionate and committed English Teacher to join a well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Skelmersdale. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible and running until the end of the academic year, with the potential for extension.

The Role:
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role will involve teaching both English Language and English Literature, encouraging students to develop their analytical, reading, and written communication skills. You will be expected to plan and deliver lessons in line with the national curriculum, assess student progress, and contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons
• Plan and prepare differentiated lessons to meet a range of abilities
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
• Foster a positive classroom environment that supports learning
• Contribute to departmental planning and wider school life
Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching English at secondary level
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A genuine enthusiasm for English and literacy development
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
