Job Title: HLTA / Experienced Teaching Assistant
Location: Plymouth Hours: Full-time Salary: Pay is to scale and dependent on experience. A friendly and welcoming primary school in Plymouth is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or an experienced Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about supporting children's learning and helping every pupil achieve their full potential. About the Role The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The role will involve a combination of: - Providing 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). - Covering teachers' Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time by confidently leading whole-class learning across the school. - Working closely with teachers and the SEND team to deliver high-quality learning experiences. - Promoting a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: - HLTA status or strong experience as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school. - Experience supporting children with SEND, including pupils with EHCPs. - Confidence in leading whole-class learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - A flexible, proactive and positive approach. - A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
