Learning Mentor – Plymouth An Alternative Provision in Plymouth is seeking a Learning Mentor to support primary and secondary aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, trauma-related challenges, high anxiety, and other moderate learning difficulties. About the role As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with class teachers, therapists, and support staff to support pupils in both structured classroom settings and outreach activities in the community. The post involves providing 1:1 and small group support, assisting with tailored learning and therapeutic activities, promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to a safe, nurturing, and trauma-informed environment. The role requires someone who is resilient, flexible, and adaptable, with the ability to respond calmly to challenging situations. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as the position involves supporting pupils in community-based activities and outreach.
