Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
1:1 Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 1 (Challenging Behaviour)
Location: Wirral
We are working with a successful and welcoming primary school in the Wirral, rated Good by Ofsted, who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 1 pupil with challenging behaviour.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference and supporting pupils with additional needs in a structured, nurturing environment.
The role:
Provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with challenging behaviour
Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policies
Support the pupil’s emotional regulation, engagement, and learning
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff
Encourage positive behaviour and promote independence
The ideal candidate:
Experience working with SEND and/or challenging behaviour (school or similar setting)
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Confident managing behaviour in a positive and consistent manner
Passionate about supporting young children in their early learning journey
Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils

What we need from you:
At least 6 months personal or professional experience supporting adults or children with special educational needs.
OR
A certified qualification in a relevant area- education, psychology, drama etc
A graduate teaching assistant with a patient, compassionate and positive attitude.
Flexibility to work in school hours- contracts are usually 8:30am until 3-4:30pm depending on the school.
Ability to reliably commute to settings either by driving or public transport.
