Job Title: Part Time SEND Teacher
Role: Part-Time SEND Primary Teacher
Location: M8 (SEND provision within a mainstream primary school)
Start Date: January (with one-week handover period before Christmas break)
Hours: 8:30 AM - 12/12:30 PM, Monday to Friday (+ one day staying until ~2 PM for planning)
Contract Type: Temporary until the end of the academic year, with potential for temp-to-perm
Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a part-time experienced and passionate SEND Primary Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Manchester. This school has a dedicated SEND provision catering to six children with complex needs, including severe autism, speech difficulties, and non-verbal communication.
As the only teacher in this SEND unit, you will lead a small team of three skilled Teaching Assistants (TAs) to deliver a tailored curriculum that supports the individual needs of each child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons and interventions for children with complex SEND needs.
- Oversee and support the team of TAs to ensure effective delivery of care and learning.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and liaise with families and external professionals as needed.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant experience in SEND.
- Proven experience teaching in a special needs school or SEND provision would be highly beneficial
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and support a small team effectively.
Passion for working with children with SEND, ensuring their educational and personal development.
