Job Title: PMLD Teacher
Position: PMLD Teacher Location: Kingston, London Employment Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 08:00-15:30 Salary: Paid to Scale Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) Teacher to join our specialist team in Kingston. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, person-centred education and support to children with profound and multiple learning disabilities, fostering their development, wellbeing, and inclusion. Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and evaluate individualized learning programmes aligned with each child’s strengths, needs, and statutory frameworks (e.g., SEND Code of Practice). • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, families, and external agencies to ensure cohesive, holistic care. • Maintain accurate, up-to-date pupil records, progress reports, and risk assessments. • Deliver therapeutic activities (sensory, communication, mobility) and promote functional independence. • Lead and contribute to team meetings, CPD sessions, and safeguarding procedures. • Ensure a safe, nurturing environment that complies with health and safety regulations. Essential Qualifications & Experience • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a Special Educational Needs (SEN) specialism. • Minimum 2?years experience teaching pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities. • Strong knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and reflective practice skills. Desirable • Post-graduate qualification in SEND or related field. • Training in sensory integration, behaviour management, or therapeutic modalities.
