Job Title: PMLD Teaching assistant
Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant (PMLD)
Location: Edgware
Hours: Monday–Friday, Term Time Only
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP
We are looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join our Further Education college in Edgware, supporting learners aged 16–25 with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
This role includes personal care and physical support and is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people with complex needs to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with PMLD
Assist with personal care (toileting, feeding, changing and hygiene)
Support with mobility, including hoisting and use of specialist equipment (training provided)
Help deliver personalised learning programmes and therapy targets
Promote communication, independence, dignity and inclusion
About You
Significant experience supporting students with PMLD/complex needs
Confident and comfortable providing intimate personal care
Calm, caring, patient and resilient
Good communication and teamwork skills
Relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 in childcare, education or health & social care) desirable
