Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant - Full time
In close partnership with 3 well renowned primary schools in different areas of Gloucester, I am supporting them in their recruitment for Teaching Assistants to start in September and all positions are to last the full academic year until July 2027 in the first instance - The following very rewarding opportunities are available:
***Primary School near Innsworth seeking a full time SEND Teaching Assistant to support 3 children all with Social Emotional Mental Health needs (SEMH), Trauma, Attachment disorder, Autism and ADHD - the pupils are in years 4 and 5 and the school need to have someone with previous experience with SEMH, Autism and ADHD as well as someone physically fit - the school find de-escalation through football and outdoor play very beneficial.
***Primary School in Quedgeley seeking a full time SEND Teaching Assistant to support 2 children, 1 in year 2 in the mornings and the other in year 5 in the afternoons - the morning support is 1-1 TA support and the afternoon is more generalist TA support with some 1-1 where and when necessary.
***Primary School near Gloucester docks seeking 3 Teaching Assistants to work the following:
-Full time general class Teaching Assistant to support in year 2 - in class support under direction of class teacher - to include break time and lunch time duty - decent subject knowledge of key stage 1 is ideal - potentially a little intervention needed if necessary.
-Full time SEND Teaching Assistant to support 2 children in year 3 with SEMH needs encouraging them both to engage with learning and supporting them in staying regulated - movement breaks and using intuition. Both children can present challenging behaviours with one pupil presenting as more of a Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profile and the other more of an oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) profile. Previous experience of SEMH and challenging behaviours is a must.
-Part time SEND Teaching Assistant working Wednesday to Friday. On Wednesday and Friday - supporting a year 3 child with PDA on a 1-1 basis in the mornings and then in the afternoons providing 1-1 support with a year 6 child who is working at a year 1 level with cognition and learning needs. On a Thursday, the support will be general class support for a year 4 class.
