Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Position: SEMH / SEND Teacher
Location: Godalming, Surrey
Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 08:00-15:30
Salary: Paid to scale (National Teachers’ Pay Scale)
We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic teacher to support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a vibrant, inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver differentiated, evidence-based lessons that meet the individual learning plans of SEMH and SEND pupils.
• Conduct assessments, set realistic targets, and monitor progress, reporting outcomes to parents and senior staff.
• Implement therapeutic strategies, behaviour-management plans, and pastoral support to promote wellbeing and resilience.
• Collaborate with class teachers, therapists, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive, whole-school approach to inclusion.
• Contribute to the development and review of the school’s SEMH and SEND policies, sharing best practice across the faculty.
• Maintain accurate records, produce timely reports, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Post-graduate qualification or proven experience in SEMH, SEND, or related special-needs fields.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with pupils, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organisational, communication, and reflective practice skills.
